Predicting airborne coronavirus inactivation by far-UVC in populated rooms using a high-fidelity coupled radiation-CFD model

A new research paper investigating the efficacy of 222 nm far UV-C against Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been released by Scientific Reports. The joint Canada-UK study found that low dose far UV-C improved disinfection rates by 50% – 85% while remaining within recommended UV exposure limits. The experiments suggested that this technology is particularly suited to poorly ventilated areas where other disinfection techniques are unsuitable.
